I am an abstract floral artist who loves to explore the beauty of nature and creation through my paintings. My hope is that my paintings bring vibrant life to every environment. I am a Native Texan, mom, wife and, grandmother. I am married to my best friend Jon & we have two amazing children, granddaughter and a son-in-law.
My passion for creative arts started at the young age of 4 and has never changed over the years. My life of creative arts continued to develop throughout school and in different forms in my career in retail visual management, but I always had a desire to pursue my passion of painting. After 20 years of that career my heart said, “It’s time for change”. I knew there was something inside me that needed to be expressed, it was a pivotal time of growth, healing, and revelation I was discovering for my life.
For the past few years I have explored the creative arts and reawakened the joy of painting within me. There is something that I love in the feeling I experience when I take a blank white canvas and bring life to it. The moment when the brush touches the canvas is the start of an unseen life created.
I have had the honor to work on numerous levels of painting projects for clients in their homes and paint gifts for special occasions. In this last year I have been transitioning to create a larger collection to show in exhibition and art events. It makes my heart happy to see clients receive their painting and watch their face light up as they talk about where they are going to hang it in their home. I am so thankful to be able to pursue my passion!
Why do I paint Flowers? I love the natural free spirit of a flower & how it is in nature, their ability to thrive anywhere, under any circumstances, while exuding exquisite beauty. In my paintings, I aim to convey the essence of growth and freedom that they symbolize. My hope is that viewers of my art feel this freedom.
As I create my floral paintings, I draw inspiration from the various stages of a flower’s growth transformation. From the vivid and fresh hues during blossoming to the gradual shift toward deep & rich colors as they gracefully fade. Using acrylic paint as my preferred medium, I layer colors and apply spontaneous brushstrokes to capture the essence of these beautiful moments.
